The principles of academic freedom have long been eroding in favour of corporate authoritarianism in education environments. It's some time now that corporate and business language and concepts have replaced academic and education language and concepts in the policies and governance of schools. It's too often conveniently assumed that a corporate and business background makes for better leadership in education than a background in education and the academe.
